Recent Reads #5

I've been so disappointed with myself regarding my reading. I barely read anything during August as I was so busy. Now I'm reading whenever I get the time to so I can catch up!

Jack and Grace look like the perfect couple. Both gorgeous, talented, caring and have the perfect home. Always together. Some will say they have the perfect marriage. However, is this all an image put on to their friends and what really happens while everyone isn't around?

I bought this book as it was 99p on kindle and turns out my mum had read it before and said it wasn't half bad. I actually really enjoyed this book. You find out the 'twist' straight away which I like because even though you know it you still want to read more. Ok, some parts of the book did irritate me and I can understand to some people why that's the reason they rated the book low. But if you are looking for a book that is thrilling, a page turner that isn't to complicated to understand then you should try this book.

Every morning and evening Rachel catches the same train. At the same signal she looks out the window at the same row of houses. Because this happens so often she believes she knows the people and their lives in those houses. One day she sees something shocking, something that upsets her. She then hears something that she feels she has to get involved with and help...

Yes I know I'm late on the bandwagon with this book and honestly I only read it because the film is out. Tbh I hate reading books that are so highly rated because then I have these high hopes already before even reading the blurb.
I found the book slow. Don't get me wrong by the end and I mean right near the end I found it hard to put down but I felt it was slightly dragged out more than it needed to. Maybe if I read this when it first come out I would rate it higher but for now I'm just kinda meh it was ok but nothing amazing.

Every summer the Sinclairs' get together to see their grandparents on their private island to enjoy their school holidays. However, on summer 15 Cadence has an accident that causes her to have migraines and have very little memory at what happened that summer. She goes back 2 years later to try and put the little pieces she has back together with the help of her favourite people, the lairs.

I loved E. Lockhart book The boyfriend list and when I saw this book in my recommendations I had to read it. At the start I found this book kinda confusing. To many metaphor/adjectives. I get what people mean when you reach the end and you find yourself wanting to read the book all over again to see where and what you missed the first time. I will probably read this book again to see if the story changes now that I know.

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

Madeline is sick. She is allergic to the outside world meaning she has never left her home. A new family move in next door that catch her eye. Well Olly catches her eye the most. And Madeline also catches his. They start to email each other and Madeline knows this can only end badly.

I was surprised how much I liked this book. About 1/3 through I already guessed the end BUT that didn't stop me wanting to find out more. The book has illustrations throughout what I felt was a nice little touch. I know when I enjoy a book when I start getting annoyed by the characters haha. Not in a bad way but because I'm getting attached to them. Some parts are cheesy and perhaps a little unbelievable but it's a cute book overall. Joe is now reading it.
