Empties #1

I do love an empties post. I feel the reviews are more trustworthy because you know they have tried the product more than once.

Superdrug Tea Tree Facial Cleansing Pads

I use this once I have finished cleansing my face at night. They are round textures pads with a strong smell of peppermint. I always notice my spots seem to stay at bay when I use this or previous spots will go down in redness overnight. I have not yet repurchased this product but have already noticed a difference in my skin and not for the best! Honestly, for £2.99 they are worth trying out.

Nivea Daily Essentials Hydration Primer Normal/Comb

I really enjoyed this product and was trying to make it last as long as I can. I have redness around my nose and when I used this primer it would go down drastically! It made my foundation go on easily and would keep my makeup put for hours! Even on the occasional drunk night where I would forget to take my makeup off before bed my makeup still looked 'decent' the next morning.
Repurchase? Yes after I have finished with my other primers

Rimmel Wake Me Up Make Up Foundation - Shade True Ivory 103

Technically this isn't an empty but I will be throwing it away even though I hate wastage but I just can't finish it. When I first bought this foundation I loved it. I thought it made me look awake and fresh skinned. I then repurchased it and couldn't stand it. I have an oily nose but when I put this on the oils just seemed to leak out! My face would look cakey and I just didn't like the way it went onto my skin. Has the formula changed?

Herbal Essences Naked Volume Shampoo 200ml / Herbal Essences Naked Volume Conditioner 200ml

I have a sensitive scalp and recently all my old staples have irritated my scalp to the point I've made myself bleed from scratching. The problem is I don't know what I am reacting to and all my doctor said was 'avoid the product'. Gee thanks for the great advice Doc! This has 0% paraben, 0% colourant and 0% silicone (shampoos only) so I thought I would give it a try. Finally I can wash my hair without the risk of looking like I have a family of nits in my hair! This leaves my hair feeling clean, soft and lightweight. I also noticed that my hair will get oily after a few days instead of the next day. If you know any other shampoo and conditioners that work well for sensitive skin please let me know.
Repurchase? Yes but on the hunt for something new

L'Oreal True Match Foundation - Shade Vanilla

This gives a light/medium coverage but is easily buildable. The formula is very watery so a little goes a long way. I did enjoy this product as an everyday foundation. It gave me a 'your skin but better' look. It covered my redness and made a good base. I would say it lasts about 10 hours before it starts to patch. So if you are using this for school or work should last by the time you get home.

Garnier Pure Active Micellar Water

This is my second bottle and I've already bought another. This is so gentle on my skin and removes majority of my makeup. I do find that when it comes to eye makeup especially waterproof it does have difficulty taking it off.
Repurchase? Yes

What have you used up this month?

  1. I also love that miscellar water by Garnier - it does a great job with removing even the most heavy eye makeup!
